S2AI designs and implements data lakes, which store massive amounts of raw data in their native format until they are needed. A data lake uses a flat architecture to store data, whereas a hierarchical data warehouse stores data in files or folders. Each data element in a lake is given a unique identifier and is assigned a set of extended metadata tags. When a business question arises, the data lake can be queried for relevant data, which can then be analyzed to help answer the question.

Modern data warehouses have been proven to be an effective alternative for supporting various analytical use cases, establishing the appropriate level of governance, and enabling optimal data retrieval.
